VAN HORN NAMED LAKESHORE EAST MARKETING VP

Magellan Development Group has named Tricia Van Horn, 31, vice president of sales and marketing for the $4 billion Lakeshore East mixed-use neighborhood now rising in the rapidly growing New East Side.

She also directs marketing activities for Magellan Realty Group, which specializes in the sale and purchase of condominium properties in the downtown Chicago market.

Her responsibilities at Lakeshore East include overseeing sales, marketing and public relations activities for what is believed to be the largest parcel of developable downtown property of any major urban center in the nation. She will continue to supervise leasing and sales activities for additional properties operated by Magellan.

Van Horn was previously sales and marketing manager for affiliate NNP Residential, which designs, develops, leases and manages luxury high-rise residential communities, and directed marketing and leasing for such high-profile rental communities as the award-winning Grand Plaza, 180 North Jefferson and One Superior Place. Prior to that she gained real estate marketing experience with Archstone-Smith, a recognized national leader in apartment investment and operations.

Van Horn has a BA in communications from the University of Illinois/Champaign Urbana. In addition to community activities she is an executive member of the New East Side Association and a committee member of the Greater Michigan Avenue Association.

Described as a village in the heart of downtown Chicago steps from Michigan Avenue, Lakeshore East incorporates all the elements of a traditional city neighborhood, including homes, retail, recreational opportunities and community amenities such as a lush public park and a planned charter elementary school — all located where the Chicago River meets Lake Michigan, just north of the city’s acclaimed new Millennium Park.

The Lakeshore East plan allows for the construction of up to 4,950 residences, a 6-acre public park, 2.21 million gross square feet of commercial space, 1,500 hotel rooms, 770,000 square feet of retail and a proposed 400-student charter elementary school.
